Class Descriptions
ORHA Classes Approved for Year End Awards
REINING CLASSES:
ORHA HACKAMORE/SNAFFLE
Restricted to horses 5 years of age and younger. Must show in an NRHA approved snaffle bit or hackamore.
Points based on the horse.
ORHA OPEN
Any rider may show any horse in this class. Points based on the horse. Horses are to be
shown one handed in the bridle.
ORHA LIMITED OPEN
Any rider with less than $10,000 lifetime NRHA or ORHA earnings may show any horse in this class. Points based on the horse. Horses are to be shown one handed in the bridle.
ORHA NON PRO
Open to any rider holding a current NRHA Non-Pro card, Non-Pro/Amateur
card OR Youth card from other breed organizations. A Non Pro Rider must meet the Non Pro
definition as stated in the Non Pro Section of the NRHA Handbook. Horses are to be shown one
handed in the bridle. See NRHA rulebook for reference. Points based on each horse/rider
combination. Non Pro riders are restricted to the rules of ownership as stated in the NRHA Non Pro Conditions.

ORHA LIMITED NON PRO
Open to any rider holding a current NRHA Non-Pro card, Non-Pro/Amateur
card OR Youth card from other breed organizations that has less than $10,000 lifetime NRHA or ORHA earnings. A Non Pro Rider must meet the Non Pro definition as stated in the Non Pro Section of the NRHA Handbook. Horses are to be shown one handed in the bridle. See NRHA rulebook for reference. ORHA PRIME TIME NON PRO
Open to riders 50 and older as of January 1st of the current year.
Points based on each horse/rider combination. Horses are to be shown one handed in the bridle.
Non Pro riders are restricted to the rules of ownership as stated in the NRHA Non Pro Conditions.

ORHA NOVICE HORSE OPEN & NON PRO
Restricted to horses that have not earned more than
$5000 in lifetime Category 1 NRHA earnings at the start of the NRHA year. Points based on the
horse. Novice Horse Non Pro is limited to Non Pro riders. Horses are to be shown one handed in
the bridle. Non Pro riders are restricted to the rules of ownership as stated in the
NRHA Non Pro Conditions. See NRHA rulebook for reference.
ORHA YOUTH 13 & UNDER
Any Youth 13 & under as of January 1. No stallions will be permitted
in any youth class. Ownership of horse is not required. Points based on each horse/rider
combination. Horses are to be shown one handed in the bridle. See NRHA rulebook for reference.
ORHA YOUTH 14-18
Any Youth 14-18 years of age as of January 1. No stallions will be permitted
in any youth class. Ownership of horse is not required. Points based on each horse/ rider
combination. Horses are to be shown one handed in the bridle. See NRHA rulebook for reference.
ORHA YOUTH 10 & UNDER Short Stirrup
Any Youth 10 & under as of January 1. No stallions will be permitted in any youth class.
Ownership of horse is not required. There will be no penalty for holding the saddle with either hand.
The rider may ride with standard reins or with any type of closed reins and may ride with one or two
hands on the reins at any time during the class. Points based on each horse/ rider combination.

ORHA ROOKIE
Open to any rider holding current Non Pro or Amateur card (see description
under NON PRO), who has not earned in excess of $1,500 lifetime NRHA or ORHA earnings or has
not earned more than 200 Youth points at the start of the NRHA year. Ownership of horse is not
required. Points based on each horse/rider combination. Horses are to be shown one handed in
the bridle. See NRHA rulebook for reference.
ORHA TENDERFOOT
Formerly called the ORHA Green Rider. Any rider in their 1st or 2nd
calendar year (defined as January 1-December 31) of showing in reining who has not earned
in excess of $200 lifetime NRHA or ORHA earnings or has not earned more than 50 youth points at
the start of the NRHA year. Ownership of the horse is not required. Points based on each
horse/rider combination. Horses to be shown one or two handed in any NRHA approved bit. Horses in
the bridle may be shown one or two handed.
ORHA FRESHMAN HORSE
Formerly called the ORHA Green Horse. Any horse in their 1st
calendar year (defined as January 1-December 31) of showing in reining. Points based on the
horse. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses shown in the bridle
must be shown one handed.
RANCH RIDING CLASSES:
ORHA FRESHMAN HORSE RANCH RIDING
Any horse in their 1st calendar year (defined as January 1-December 31) of showing in ranch riding. Points based on the
horse. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses shown in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA OPEN RANCH RIDING
Any rider may show any horse in this class. Points based on the horse. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA or AQHA approved bit. Horses shown in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA NON PRO RANCH RIDING

ORHA ROOKIE RANCH RIDING
Open to any rider holding current Non Pro or Amateur card (see description
under NON PRO), who meets NRHA Rookie 1 qualifications (has not earned in excess of $500 lifetime NRHA or ORHA earnings or has not earned more than 200 Youth points at the start of the year) and also must have earned fewer then 10 lifetime AQHA or APHA points in ranch riding in any division (open/amateur/youth). Ownership of horse is not required. Points based on each horse/rider combination. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA or AQHA approved bit. Horses shown in the bridle must be shown one handed. See NRHA rulebook for reference.
ORHA Classes NOT Approved for Year End Awards
ORHA LADIES
Any horse to be shown by a female rider. Horses to be shown in any age
appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA GENTS
Any horse to be shown by a male rider. Horses to be shown in any age
appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA MARES
Any age mare. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA STALLIONS & GELDINGS
Any age stallion or gelding. Horses to be shown in any age appropriate NRHA approved bit. Horses in the bridle must be shown one handed.
ORHA YOUTH 10 & UNDER WALK TROT REINING
Any Youth 10 & under as of January 1. No stallions will be permitted in any youth class.
Ownership of horse is not required. Youth riders must be able to walk and trot their horses without being led and follow a simple pattern (to be posted online and at the show). There will be no penalty for holding the saddle with either hand.

ORHA YOUTH 10 & UNDER WALK TROT RANCH RIDING
Any Youth 10 & under as of January 1. No stallions will be permitted in any youth class.
Ownership of horse is not required. Youth riders must be able to walk and trot their horses without being led and follow a simple pattern (to be posted online and at the show). There will be no penalty for holding the saddle with either hand.
